Heavyweight Apparel Collection
Film Photography, Campaign, Apparel, 2024

Heavyweight’s first apparel collection brings its type-first mindset into a new space: wearable, tactile and built to last. The limited drop includes two easy to wear t-shirts in mint and black, plus a trio of vests in black, purple and orange.

This commission is an exploration of material and scale. By integrating typography, garment design and film photography, the collection examines how design decisions shape the way we perceive and interact with clothing. Through a deliberate focus on texture and proportion, the campaign reflects a unique approach balancing aesthetic with a deep respect for craftsmanship.

To capture the collection we turned to extreme macro photography — revealing the cotton threads, the precision of the print and the richness of the textile’s surface. These close-ups offer a quiet intensity, placing emphasis on texture and the nuance of material and colour.

The apparel collection is made from 100% pure cotton by Made in Portugal, and the designs are screen printed by Test Print Platform. The fit is oversized and boxy, with dropped shoulders for a laid-back silhouette that still holds its shape. Each piece features Heavyweight’s signature logo and some t-shirt’s present a custom illustration inspired by the Goode Homolosine Projection — a cartographic method that disrupts standardised perspectives of the world.

Model photos by Tereza Havlínková — models are Janek, Antonie and Tereza. Silk-screen printing by Test Print Platform. Shot on Kodak Gold 200 with a 1988 Minolta Dynax 7000i. Films developed and scanned by Jacobo Biarnés Photo Studio. Special thanks to Jan Horčík and Heavyweight Digital Type Foundry.
